BabyJam!â„ 

All Levels

Ages 1-2 + Companion

30 minutes 

​

 

BabyJam! is a class offered at Starrfish Dance Academy specially created for Babies to dance with an adult companion!  Lessons include strength & flexibility, free guided creative dance, storytelling with dance, Braindance, yoga for babies, & baby obstacle courses.  Great for mommies, daddies, grandparents, and nannies! 

 

Creative Movement

All Levels

Ages 3-5

45 minutes

Dancers begin to learn the basic concepts of dance including level, shape, pathway, speed, rhythm, weight, and flow while practicing using the concepts with locomotor and non-locomotor movements.  Story time with dance, Braindance,

pre-ballet, yoga for kids, and dance games are also elements in class. Dancers must be potty trained to be eligible for enrollment.  Thank you for understanding.

Juxtamarine Jazz 

Beginning-Intermediate 

Ages 6-10 

1 hour

The style of this Jazz class is influenced by Classic, Contemporary, & Jazz Funk Dance Styles.  Dancers begin by warming up in the center with stretching, conditioning, and center work including basic ballet based technique needed for strong jazz skills. After warming up, we will learn basic jazz leaps and turns across the floor, as well as choreographed jazz routines!

 

Movin' & Groovin'

Beginning-Intermediate 

Ages 11-15

1 Hour

Class Description: 

Learn modern, house, old school, trending, and freestyle hip hop dance moves while following along in the center as we warm up!  Also learn choreographed hip hop combinations to fun songs! This class will help you increase your strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence while jamming away!

Pacific Sunset Movement Sessions Cardio Dance

Open Level

Ages 16-Adults 

1 Hour

Pacific Cardio Movement Sessions primarily focuses on the dance styles of jazz funk and hip hop.  This class adds an exciting funky twist on the basic elements of classic American jazz dance styles and hip hop dance that you learn while grooving along developing dance technique during center work. During class complete across the floor combinations, and learn fun choreographed jazz funk & hip hop dance routines! Build core strength, become more flexible, burn fat, detox, energize, and increase your overall muscle tone!
